Our Summer Associate Program gives our associates an opportunity to see what it is really like to work at Blackwell Sanders LLP. We look for excellence in our summer associates, and we hire based on the projected needs of each of the firm's offices.
Our 2007 Summer Associate Program included law students from 16 law schools: Creighton University, Drake University, Harvard University, Howard University, Northwestern University, Saint Louis University, South Texas College of Law, University of Arkansas-Fayetteville, University of Iowa, University of Kansas, University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Missouri-Kansas City, University of Nebraska, University of Tulsa, Washburn University and Washington University.
Summer associates' experiences and assignments are structured to provide "hands-on" exposure to as many of the firm's practice areas as possible, with an emphasis on the practice areas which are of greatest interest to the summer associate. Summer associates have the opportunity to work directly with partners on a wide variety of interesting and challenging projects, including attending trials, depositions, negotiations, conferences and closings. We also assign mentors to each summer associate to help ensure that the summer experience is professionally rewarding and enjoyable.
